About Me

Beverly's Education

In 2018, Beverly graduated from UC San Diego summa cum laude as a Jacobs School Scholar with a BS in Bioengineering (Biotechnology) and a BA in Economics. During her undergraduate studies, she served as a peer writing mentor for three years, tutored English to graduate students with limited English proficiency, and studied abroad at the London School of Economics and Osaka University. Beverly continued her education at Yale School of Medicine and earned her MD in 2023 along with the Norma Bailey Berniker Prize, which is awarded to graduating students who give promise of best exemplifying the disciplines and precepts of the Oath of Hippocrates and Maimonides Prayer. Since medical school, she has treasured her involvement with the community and has been heavily involved with teaching/mentoring peers as well as local youth. She was also a student editor of the new 4th edition of Lange Pathology Flashcards, a USMLE Step 1 study resource. In the realm of research, her thesis work focused on investigating nanoparticle-encapsulated sunscreens and her other primary project was rooted in medical education. She is currently working on several projects exploring the role of language barriers in health disparities. Beverly will be starting her dermatology residency at UC Irvine after completing a transitional intern year.
