"I really enjoyed working with Dr. Tam. She was very knowledgeable and she was flexible with her schedule so we could make meeting times work (especially since she was on Pacific time and I was on Eastern time). She communicated well if there was a scheduling problem and we got a new time figured out ASAP. I appreciated her patience when working through topics with me. I also enjoyed the format of our lessons - it was a good mix of discussing new topics, how to differentiate between similar things, understanding the "why" of what the answer is, and especially having me summarize the topics we reviewed during each day at the end of our sessions. I think that last part really benefitted me. I feel like the exposure to multiple questions on the same topic in a row was good for me to understand the highlights of certain pathologies and, again, how to distinguish similar pathologies from one another. I am also grateful for her sharing what resources she had with me - I found some of them very helpful. The score tracking component was good for not only her making sure I was doing my work, but for holding myself accountable. AND she went over some of my question blocks to identify material I struggled with - I am truly grateful for all the time she put in to help me while she is busy in her own residency program. Dr. Tam was very nice and we could joke about some things, which made the tutoring experience a little less stressful/intimidating and more enjoyable. Overall, I am very happy that I got to work with Dr. Tam."
