Before graduating Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude from Hope College in
2019, Karissa served as a TA and tutor in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, and
human physiology. She also served as a writing coach and editor for written work
at the Klooster Center for Excellence in Writing. After graduating college, Karissa
attended Ohio State University College of Medicine where she is currently
finishing her 4 th year of medicla school. She will complete residency training in
Dermatology at St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO following a Transitional Year
at Corewell in Grand Rapids, MI. She is a published academic author with
research interests in complex medical dermatology.
