In 2017, Nicolas graduated from Weber State University in Ogden, UT receiving BS degrees in Biochemistry and Applied Mathematics. He received numerous awards for his academic achievement during his time at Weber State including the Outstanding Graduate in Chemistry and Biochemistry and the American Chemical Society Undergraduate Analytical Chemistry Award. He matriculated into the Duke University School of Medicine in 2017. During his time at Duke University he received the Poindexter Scholars in Basic Science award, was a teaching assistant in the Masters of Biomedical science program at Duke, and published several scientific articles. You can find his published work here. He is graduating from Duke in May of 2021 and will be pursuing further clinical and academic training in General Surgery at the University of Colorado. He is married and has three children.
