Sarah's Education
Sarah Godfrey graduated with a degree in African and African American Studies from Harvard University in 2010. Late in deciding to apply to medical school, she then pursued her postbaccalaureate training at Columbia University from 2011-2013. She then continued on for a MD/MPH dual degree program at Columbia from 2013-2018. During this time, Sarah was the lead teaching assistant for Columbia’s physical diagnosis course and began tutoring students for medical school coursework and USMLE exams. As her Master’s thesis, Sarah also designed the longitudinal 4-year public health curriculum used for all medical students at Columbia. She then pursued her internal medicine residency at Columbia from 2018-2021. During her residency, she participated in the Advanced Clinician Educator Track, culminating in designing an echocardiography course for the residency. After completing residency, Sarah started a 5-combined fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in general cardiology, advanced heart failure, and palliative care.
