Theja's Education
Theja has a non-traditional route to medicine blended with expertise in biomedical sciences and business administration. He holds an undergraduate degree in Human Physiology from Boston University and Masters’ degrees in Tufts School of Medicine (MS) & Brandeis University (MBA). In his professional career, Theja worked as a care coordinator at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he gained insights into healthcare operations management and administration.
Throughout his academic journey, Theja gained extensive teaching experience. He led clinical biochemistry cases for medical and graduate students at Tufts University School of Medicine and served as a Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology lecturer for fourth-year undergraduate students at Boston University. At Rowan-Virtua SOM, he pursued and excelled in a problem-based learning pre-clinical curriculum and served as a lead teaching assistant, combining his leadership experience and interpersonal skills from his management experiences to the small group interactions. These experiences fueled his interest in case-based learning. He provided tutoring in pre-clinical, clinical, and board preparation for hundreds of students and truly enjoys motivating and helping his students reach their goals and beyond.
During his time at Rowan-Virtua SOM, Theja was a part of the Sigma Sigma Phi Osteopathic Honor Fraternity and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He attained a Distinguished Class Rank, positioning him among the top 15% of his class. He possesses a keen interest in pursuing an academic career in Internal Medicine.
