As we enter week two of the 2019 Elite Medical Prep USMLE Course at Mount Sinai, we can’t help but reflect upon what a productive first week we had! Dr. Rubin started off the week with several days of interactive question-based lectures on Cardio and Pulm, then transitioning to Endo, before Dr. Brus-Ramer led the students the initial set of question based Neuro topics. Week two will start off with Heme and GI/Liver, then Repro, followed by Neuroanatomy and MSK Rheum. The final week will have integrated question based lectures on Renal, Immuno, Derm, High-Yield images and finish with Mixed sets and test-day strategy. Students have been enjoying the live polling and interactive structure of the course with its focus on seamlessly integrating topics such as Pharm, Micro and Cell Bio into the question sets that are organized by organ system.
The 2019 Elite Medical Prep Course at Mount Sinai is directed by Ken Rubin, MD, who is always energized to back at his alma mater, teaching the next generation of Mt Sinai students. Assistant course director Marcel Brus-Ramer, MD PhD has found the depth and complexity of Mt Sinai students’ knowledge to be impressive and enjoys being back in New York working with the students, and collaborating with his colleagues from his time at Columbia P&S. Additionally, this year we are pleased to announce Elite tutors Martin B., MD, Amy P., MD Candidate, and Alex R., MD Candidate as course content editors.
